DallGaïa, the non-profit organization currently being established, exists to support the network of intentional communities in Quebec. Its aim is to be the economic heart of this network, with advisors visiting communities to assess, analyze, plan, and monitor the progress of projects of all kinds. It will also allocate loans at preferential rates with more flexible rules than the existing system.

           Our mission is also to build links between communities and promote the exchange of knowledge, expertise, obstacles experienced and solutions to overcome them.

           We started in March 2022 when the "commute-work-sleep" lifestyle no longer suited us. We got rid of our home and all our material possessions, except for basic items that could fit in the SUV with a rooftop tent and a bicycle for local travel, and we set off to meet intentional communities in order to have different immersive experiences to find our own way of life.

           Ultimately, it was the nomadic lifestyle between these communities that resonated with our values ​​and aligned with our personal growth. During these visits, we were shocked to learn that barely 15% of the communities survive beyond five years.

           From this, a mission was born: towork towards the development and sustainability of these communities, through our encounters. Clearly, one of the commonalities among the different communities was the human element. A second commonality was the lack of financial resources to support their self-sufficiency projects, in terms of food, energy, and the economy.

           Therefore, it had become clear that we needed to try to fill these gaps, and in this way, participate in reducing Quebec's ecological footprint.
